About OVC Health Sciences Centre
As the Province progresses through its phased re-opening plan, we are pleased to let you know that as of July 19th the OVC HSC will begin allowing some clients into the hospital to accompany their pets – under specific conditions – when we enter Step 3 of the re-opening plan, which is anticipated to happen within the next few weeks.
As we are still operating at reduced in-person capacity, priority for face-to-face appointments will be given to new clients and existing clients for whom complex medical discussions are required to care for their pets.
In these cases, only one client will be allowed into the building per patient. Clients will accompany their pets into the building to check in for their appointment, and, if necessary, the client may also be allowed to meet the clinical team in the exam room.
To ensure we can accommodate as many face-to-face appointments as possible, clients will not be allowed to wait in exam rooms or waiting rooms during exams or procedures. We will ask that after you check in you please wait in your car until a member of our team contacts you.
We will also continue to use telehealth appointments whenever it is appropriate.
We appreciate your patience during this transition time. Our gradual return to reopening is intended to ensure the safety of our clients and our healthcare team so we can continue to provide the best possible care for your pets.
